Dealing with lengthy commutes

Great distances from home to work often lead to one stressful obligation - a long commute. As the distance increases, the hours of commuting from home to work become longer. This is a daily routine that one must endure if he or she is really looking to make money or make a living.

One common thing that is brought about by long commutes for many people is the insufficient amount of sleep or bed rest. While at work, you will need to spend at least 8 hours a day and have the rest of your hours to your family and of course for the long commute which no longer leave you with enough time for sleep.

Dealing with far commuting distances is something that we cannot escape from unless you are willing to change jobs, buy your own fast car or plane. What you can do is save your strength for other activities after the long commute and keep your mind and body busy and active during the process. So what can you do to make your time useful during long commutes?

One thing that people commonly do in order to buy time when riding a bus home or to work is to read a journal or a book. By reading books, magazines or journals, you will be able to keep you distracted and can also gain new knowledge. At the end of your reading, you'd be surprised you're already at the bus stop.

You can also be childish as you take that bus ride from your home to your office by playing games on your phone. While many may not be very fund of games over devices, it can be very much helpful in keeping your thoughts distracted and thus keeping you less stressed. If you want your games or apps to be more interesting, you can download top apps and games over the online market and compete with friends.

Looking to make money even while riding a bus home or to your work? Try writing an article - you can do this either through a pen and paper or through a laptop. When you are sitting and not doing much, your mind tend to become more active. Writing articles would then be beneficial for your as an outlet of your thoughts. Write or blog about your experience at work, how to make a long commute more fun and more profitable and others. Not only will this be a great way to take your thoughts off the time but also helps you make money.

And of course, you can also do the conventional thing to do when bored in a bus ride home or to work - talk with others. As you take that long commute, you can also talk to your fellow passengers. I know this would require skill as well as enough confidence however it is actually easier than it would sound. The challenging part would only be to have a small confidence to ignite that conversation. You need to think of an interesting subject as well as a topic that both of you passengers can relate from. Likewise, be sure to check first that the person you are looking to talk to is approachable.
