How to get a job as a mermaid

The ocean is filled with many interesting creatures.  Some of the creatures are genuine some are from ancient myth. Among those that come from tales told over many a pint of ale are Davy Jones Locker, Neptune, and the mermaid. Of those that fill a tale over a pint of ale are Neptune, Davy JoneÕs locker and of course mermaids.

A half fish, half human creature of the ocean is a mermaid.  The victims are lured below the water by her amazing beauty.  To philosophers she was a perfect mixture of the sea and earth. The mermaid represented the mystery of the sea to the Greeks. What happened to those sailors who fell overboard?

Of course, this is more Greek mythology than anything else is, but there are people who perform as mermaids.  These women with tails are still beautiful.

Want to get a job as a mermaid?

Of course love of water is one big requirement.  Instead of feet and fins you have to swim with a tail, something very different.  First off you work as a model to learn about how to present yourself. You wonÕt be out in the ocean swimming for the sake of swimming most of the time.  The quality of your performance will depend how you present yourself in a mystic manner.   A good understanding of camera angles and how a camera works is vital.

Get involved in the idea of the ocean. Talk to divers and other people who are always in the water.  Find out how they see the oceans.  Make a portfolio by asking some underwater photographers to take some shots.  A portfolio is necessary to impress potential employers.

Perfect your mermaid job skills by performing at kids parties.  By not being too critical of you the kids can allow you get the performance just right.

 Try making your own tail.

A model turned professional mermaid is Hannah Frasier. She suggests that you create your own tail to match your body instead of copying other designs.  It should have a natural feel.   It is better to have a certain shape so as to glide powerfully through the water.   She says, be creative and make it you.

By following these steps, one day it may be you in that picture swimming with the whale or getting applause from a thrilled audience at a famous water park somewhere in the world.
